Memorial Day is the official start of the summer! Pools open and grills are ready for grilling. Of course, not all pools are created equal. Woodley Gardens Pool in Rockville is special for many of us. 17 years ago John Bell, an EI single member at that time and the owner of the pool, invited us to have our social there. Everybody enjoyed the experience so much that it became a tradition to get together for the Memorial Weekend Social at the Woodlye Gardens Swimming Pool.

On Saturday, May 27, 2017 the pool will be open all day and you are welcome to come earlier for more swimming, but EI party will start at 5 PM

We'll have the deck and two grills at our disposal . We'll meet and greet the new members, we'll cook, eat and drink, we'll light the candles when it gets dark, play music, dance and swim under the stars. What more can you ask?

I invite EI single members and EI families (with children) to attend. Everybody is welcome! My special invitation goes to those couples who celebrate anniversaries of their first meetings on this day. It was a Memorial Weekend social at this same swimming pool a number of years ago that a couple met, developed the relationship and got married. It happens almost every year and I hope that 2017 will not be an exception from this sweet rule.

Thing to remember: to bring your picnic food and drinks to share, swimming suits and towels, $10 entrance fee payable at the front desk of the pool.
