Encounters International Open House has become an established tradition. Couples and singles are looking forward to it. Men and Russian women in the US and even in Russia start making plans to attend it well before the date for the Open House is set. Couples or soon-to-be couples who missed it last year call each other to make sure that they won't miss it this time. Why is it so popular among singles and couples?

Encounters International Open house is popular among singles because they know that it may change their lives beyond their expectations. That happened to Tim Harbert, 43 year old manager for a major oil company from California, Scott Measor, 30 year old aircraft engineer from Georgia, and Richard Jolly, 41 year old marketing manager from Oregon.
Tim, Scott and Rich are three single Americans
who joined Encounters International at the EI
Open House in February, 1997 in Bethesda, MD .

They did not know each other and never met before. They had different life experiences but same expectations. They came to the EI Open House 1997, they became a part on EI membership and they did not know whether to believe or not to believe my words that next year all three of them will get the invitations to attend our Open House 1998 with their wives!

Tim and Alla got married in September, 1997 in California
Their reaction was no different from
what I am used to when interviewing men and telling them about our program. It
is the mixture of excitement, struggle with doubts that it is too good to be
true, hope and finally a leap of faith. I will not even attempt to tell you the
stories of their success. I will leave it for them to tell at the Open House
1998 or on the Encounters International
Clients Exchange. Each story can be a text book of human relationships for
a newcomer to this process. All three men are exceptionally generous
individuals and willing to share their experience. It was a real pleasure to
work with them. After getting married and "graduating" from
Encounters International we at EI still refer to them affectionately as the most
knowledgeable couple, the most beautiful couple and the most romantic couple in
EI. They look alike, they think alike, they act alike. They seem to be the true
match of hearts and souls.
Dear Tim and Alla, Scott and Oksana and Rich and Lina, we are happy for you and we are looking forward to seeing you at the EI Open House 1998! I am sure that you will see familiar faces of many others who have attended last year Open house as singles and now can't wait to introduce their wives to you. We will toast you together with sixty five other couples who have a good reason to call 1997 the happiest year in their lives .

Encounters International Open House is popular among couples because it is a wonderful opportunity for them to get together, to catch up with the latest news in the lives of each other; to meet the newcomers in the EI big family; to exchange phone numbers and of cause to have fun.
Encounters International family is growing unbelievably fast. The new generation counts too. 17 children are the focus of their parents' efforts to start the EI children's club. Couples want their little ones to grow bilingual. EI Open House is the perfect place to coordinate these efforts.
Any family reunion will not feel like a reunion without celebration of some major event in the life of one of its members. Last year we celebrated the first birthday of Valeria, Elena and Harry Green's daughter.
This year EI Open House will become one of the most exiting events ever.

One of our couples -- Norman May from Virginia and Elena
Kobiakova from Kiev -- announced that they want to be married on February 21,
1998 and would like to extend the invitation to their wedding ceremony and the
reception to all the participants of the Open House. With so many Russian women
and American men participating in this festive event their wedding will
represent the true combination of both cultures' traditions like the Russian "gor'ko"
chant when it is time for the newly weds to kiss and the American custom when
single women try to catch the bridal bouquet considering it a sign of getting
married soon.
Congratulations, Norman and Lena!
I am sure that it will
be the most memorable day in your lives.
